How To Choose Quality Promotional Umbrellas
by marsie poluchowska - Monday, 12 May 2008, 10:24 PM
Anyone in the world
By Gareth Parkin There are a good many factors to consider when you decide to use promotional umbrellas to market your companys good name. Youll want to consider color, design, style, budget and quality to be sure that youre getting a quality promotional item that will deliver your message loud and clear. Here are some of the things the companyl need to know in order to help you choose the best promotional umbrella for your needs. Budget With promotional umbrellas available in such a wide range of prices, your budget can be a primary consideration. If you let us know how much you intend to spend and how many umbrellas youll need, the company can present a range of options within your price constraints. Style Who would have thought that such a simple item offers so many choices? There are many different styles of umbrellas on the market. Here are some of the style options among which you can choose. Golf promotional umbrellas Golf umbrellas are traditionally wider and larger than standard umbrellas for better coverage. Typically they have a rib length of 30 inches to offer 60 full inches diameter for rain protection. Woodstick Promotional Umbrellas Traditional, classic styling with a crooked wooden handle, these umbrellas usually offer less area than golf umbrellas. They present a very traditional, staid image. Vented Promotional Umbrellas Vented canopies help prevent umbrella blowout by allowing the wind to pass through the canopy. Vents will add to the cost of your umbrella, but the added quality is more than worth it. Miniature Promotional Umbrellas Mini umbrellas and stadium umbrellas are yet another choice for promotional umbrellas. Some telescopically fold for easy storage, and some come with their own storage packet. Print Area Different styles of umbrellas offer differing sizes of print areas. The most commonly ordered promotional umbrellas are printed on one panel with your logo or company name, but there are options for printing on more than one panel, or even over the entire width of the canopy. If you want printing on more than one panel, your choices will be more limited. Colors Most umbrellas come in a range of standard colors and can be printed in any of the standard print colors. Some umbrellas can be printed using a special process that allows for exact color matching. If exact color matching is important to you, youll need to order umbrellas with a special dye and printing process. Handles Many suppliers of promotional umbrellas let you mix and match handle styles and shaft styles. In some cases, it may be possible to design a custom handle, or to imprint your company logo on the handle as well as on the canopy. Some offer custom shaft colors to match or contrast with the handle and canopy. Other factors to consider when ordering promotional umbrellas are the materials used for the canopy, ribs, handle and shaft. All of these will affect the price that you pay for your promotional umbrellas. The internet is a great place to locate promotional gift suppliers which offer a wide range of promotional umbrellas in many styles and price ranges. Speak with one of their account managers to find out how your ideas translate into reality. Gareth Parkin is the co-founder of Ideasbynet.com, the UK's leading online promotional umbrellas and printed umbrellas supplier based in the north of England. Ideasbynet was established in 2001 and together with the Chairman Peter Howarth he has taken the UK promotional gift market by storm. Your Next Relationship - Heaven or Hell

Anyone in the world
By Lucia Demasi Weve all had relationships that weve looked back on and thought, What was I thinking? Problem is, you werent thinking. You based your decision strictly on chemistry and first impressions, and in the words of Elvis Presley, Thats when your heartaches begin. Would you like to make better choices in the future? This is your lucky day. Imagine you have an empty wall over your sofa and are looking for the perfect piece of art to fill it with. Lets make believe theres a gallery in town that is known for having great paintings. Theres only one problem. All of their artwork is covered up except for one small corner. If you decide you like something, you can either buy it without seeing what the whole thing looks like, or you can go back each week as a bit more of it is revealed. Do you get where Im going with this? Most people fall for a corner of the painting and immediately decide this would be the perfect piece of art for a wall that has been bare for far too long. Instead of returning each week to the gallery to learn a bit more, they make up their mind on the spot and only weeks or months later when the cover is off do they see what they are really dealing with. I doubt anyone would ever buy art in this fashion, yet that is exactly what youre doing when you first meet someone and either instantly or within days or weeks decide you want them to be your partner. Youre only seeing a corner of the painting. If you had waited to see what the rest looked like, you may have chosen to move on instead. Whats the solution? When meeting someone new, your motto should be, SHOW ME WHO YOU ARE AND ILL DECIDE WHERE YOU FIT INTO MY LIFE, IF ANYWHERE. Instead of trying or hoping to have someone in your life, let the person show you who they are, by their words, actions and non-actions. Then you can decide what category to put them in. Lets say youre looking for a committed relationship. You meet someone and at first everything seems great. Then they start to become unreliable, dont call when they say they will, cancel dates, show up 2 hours late, are verbally abusive, etc. Youve just been shown that they are not to be taken seriously. If youve already brought them home and placed them on that empty space above your sofa (your heart), it will be more difficult to walk away, than if you had just gone to the gallery each week to see who they were. Ce nest pas? There was a guy that had been trying to get my number for several months, but I wasnt interested, so I didnt give it to him. One day he mentioned that he had been tanning at a friends pool. I thought it might be fun to go with him sometime, so he gave me his number. I called on a Saturday afternoon, to see about going on Sunday. Well, this guy that was so interested in my number beforehand, didnt call back. When I saw him the following Monday, I said, What happened? You never called back. He responded, I had a crazy weekend. Does that mean he couldnt find 5 minutes to call back? I doubt it, but it did show me who he was and if I wasnt interested before, I was even less interested now. Let people show you who they are and then you can decide if they fit into your life. The Memory Pill for Treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
by marsie poluchowska - Friday, 2 May 2008, 06:59 AM
Anyone in the world
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Louis_Tinnin] Louis Tinnin Researchers at Harvard University are testing the Memory Pill featured on 60 Minutes November 26, 2006. Their hypothesis: propranolol neutralizes the emotional pain of traumatic memories, even those laid down many years ago. This would relieve the immense emotional burdens of millions who suffer the consequences of combat trauma, traumatic accidents, illnesses, or abuse in childhood or as adults. Propranolol (trade name, Inderal), a beta-blocker, is a familiar medication used for high blood pressure, angina, heart diseases, tremor and a variety of nervous symptoms. Its major effects slow the heartbeat and reduce blood pressure. It works by counteracting adrenalin. It also apparently counters the adrenalin effect on memory in the brain, which seems to take the sting out of fearful memories. People taking propranolol regularly for the usual reasons dont notice any change in their response to fearful memories but the laboratory subjects go through certain steps that produce a special experience. They tell and write out the story of their traumatic experience from beginning to end and they note the intensity of their feelings. They agreed to do this when they enrolled in the study so they are prepared to endure the reactivated emotion. With a net of wires attached to their bodies to measure physiological changes they tell the story and write it out in full detail. This is the catch. In all likelihood, none of these subjects ever told their stories in detail from beginning to end to anyone before. That includes their therapists, even many specialized trauma therapists, because the usual phobia the victims feel for their traumatic memories stops them in their tracks. The therapists usually assume that the emotion evoked by recounting the trauma story would be too much for the patient to endure and so kindly interrupt the distressing story to protect the patient. Such protectiveness can go on for years, finally to just settle for substitute coping strategies rather than processing of trauma memories. In the lab subjects experience a structured containment for their phobic anxiety and the calming effect of the propranolol counteracts their trauma phobia. The medication thus makes it possible to construct a narrative of the trauma that allows the memory to finally come to closure and be experienced as fully past-tense and over with. This is not the only way to do it. The proper use of hypnosis can construct the narrative. Art therapy can do it by drawing the story as a series of scenes with a beginning, middle, and end. So-called parts work can do it by dialogue and negotiation with inner dissociated parts of the self that continue to experience the traumatic memory as unfinished and always present. Even so, there are individuals who would benefit from medication effects that render the traumatic memories less vehement. Propranolol is useful for some patients going through intensive outpatient marathon treatment programs designed to condense the often lengthy trauma therapy into one or two weeks. A flagship program in marathon treatment, Intensive Trauma Therapy Inc., http://traumatherapy.us/ currently uses the medication adjunctively. By Michael Baker All Natural Shampoo - 5 Tips Here are 5 tips to ensure you are buying a true all natural shampoo product, even though the label may say all natural. All natural shampoo will not contain as an ingredient SLS, or sodium lauryl sulfate. This additive is only added to ensure the shampoo bubbles, and forms a thick lather, neither of which ensure your hair is actually clean. This is the same additive added to oven cleaners. SLS is a known, and much publicized skin irritant. No SLES is listed in the ingredients. This is a sister chemical to the SLS. While SLES is not quite as much of a skin irritant, it definitely causes drying of the skin. You should avoid SLS and SLES at all costs. No PEG is added. This ingredient is normally listed as PEG-with a number behind it. Also a strong skin irritant. One of the main ingredients if brake fluid. No term fragrance will be listed in the ingredients. Fragrance is just an artificially derived chemical, which is cheap to use and makes the shampoo have an aroma to it. This is also a know skin irritant. All natural shampoos will be fragrance and enhanced with pure essential oils. No artificial colors, preservatives, or ingredients added. Just a quick check of the label will ensure you are truly buying an All Natural Shampoo product. For much more information on all natural products, visit n2scents.com - All Natural Products. Online College Education a Boon for Working Professionals
by marsie poluchowska - Sunday, 27 April 2008, 04:16 AM
Anyone in the world
By Tim Arnold There is no such thing as having too much education. In fact, more and more professionals are realizing that further education can actually help them in their careers. There are certain positions in companies that in which eligible job candidates are required to have either a Masters of Doctorate level education or even a second degree in another specialization that is more in tune to the responsibilities that the position entails. But the inherent difficulty of pursuing any type of additional education among professionals is time. There is just not enough of it to go around. In between the demands of the workplace, there are also responsibilities and expectations that need to be fulfilled at home (as a father or as a husband). This makes it so much harder for working professionals to squeeze in going to school into their already tight daily schedules. Fortunately, new avenues have been opened with regards to the pursuit of higher knowledge among busy individuals. The rise of online college education has been able to meet the specific and highly specialized needs of working professionals. With an online education gaining knowledge has been freed from the confines of a school building and has now entered the domain of the individual in whatever place or time that is convenient to him. This liberation of education has truly revolutionized the way we as individuals and professionals can attain additional knowledge and skills. Because of the very nature of online education, it effectively offers two enticing benefits to professionals cost and flexibility. Since a large number of working professionals have families or are planning to have a family, the cost advantage of online education makes it a very attractive proposition to them. Although the tuition that needs to be paid may be the same amount that is paid with regular schools, you get to save on other education-related costs. Some of these costs could be the commuting expenses to and from the school, school-related materials and supplies, miscellaneous expenses that are usually incurred when in a school but is eliminated because of the virtual nature of online education. There are also some intangible costs, like the stress an individual feels when he has to rush from the office to the school and from the school to the home. Online education effectively eliminates this cost. Yes, there may be other incurred costs related to getting an online education most notably the internet connection fees but since most homes already have a ready connection anyway, this cost becomes insignificant. Another important benefit of online education is flexibility. This could probably be the most important benefit of getting an online education. For people who have to juggle time between work and home, the relative flexibility in time with regards to online classes is a great enticement to enroll and further their personal development. An individual who wants to pursue higher or specialized education using online channels will never have to worry about commuting to a school (except for certain programs that require minimal visits to the campus). He can just rush home from work and learn from the comfort of his own home. This flexibility benefit has not gone unnoticed by the employers themselves. In fact, more and more business owners are realizing that online education is a great tool for them further improve the skills of their workers without sacrificing productivity or incurring too much in terms of the cost of education. Whats more, employers are finally realizing that investing in education for their employees returns in the form of a more trained workforce that can more effectively do their assigned tasks and roles in the company and this alone makes this investment all worth it. Home Remedy For Canker Sore
by marsie poluchowska - Monday, 21 April 2008, 09:51 AM
Anyone in the world
By Lee Dobbins While no one really understands what causes canker sores, there are numerous things you can do to instigate a home remedy for a nasty canker sore. Here are some tips. Some over the counter aids are carbamide peroxide cankercide. Yes, thats a mouthful but just go to the pharmacist at your favorite store and ask for carbamide peroxide. What this home remedy does to relieve a sufferer of a canker sore is to release oxygen that will clean up the bacteria that initiates that canker sore. The peroxide bubbles get into the smallest crevices of the sore, while the glycerine coats and protects the affected area. Some brand names to ask for are Amosan, Cankaid and Glyoxide. Potassium chlorate is also an effective home canker sore remedy. The patient just combines a teaspoon of the potassium chlorate with a cup of water and gargles with it several times each day. This should not be swallowed, just swished around in the mouth and then spat out. Other remedies for canker sores are over the counter medicines that have camphor, benzocaine, menthol, eucalyptol or alcohol or a combination of any of these in gel or liquid form. These might sting when first applied to the canker sore and you will have to keep applying them because they dont adhere to the canker sore. Orabase is a paste that works as a home remedy for a canker sore. The first step in this remedy is drying the canker sore with a cotton swab. The other end of the swab would be used to apply the orabase to the top of the sore. This home remedy only works on a canker sore that just appeared, however. A wet tea bag, useful for so many aches and pains such as tooth aches and ear aches, comes in handy as a home remedy for a canker sore as well. Tea contains tannin and tannin is an astringent that relieves pain. The tea bag should be applied cold. There are a couple of other mouthwash home remedies that help cure and take away the pain of canker sores. The first is a solution of 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide in eight ounces of water. This is to be gargled, not swallowed. Another home remedy is recommended by a physician who has seen this work for her cancer patients who developed canker sores. She said the mouthwash Folamint is very effective and doesnt sting because it has no alcohol. She said it heals because its ingredients are aloe vera, folate, zinc and Vitamin C all with medicinal effects. Milk of magnesia or Mylanta can be used as home remedies for canker sores by swishing them around in your mouth to add a protective coating to the canker sore. They both have antibacterial effects as well. As a preventative rather than home remedy for canker sores try yogurt. 4 tablespoons four times a day has an antibacterial effect. Yogurt is also used to ward of yeast infections. What You Don't Know Can Harm You: Know Your Cleaners Before You Buy
by marsie poluchowska - Thursday, 17 April 2008, 07:14 AM
Anyone in the world
By Vincent Platania The next time you visit your supermarket or neighborhood retailer, take a quick walk down the household cleaning isle. Take just a few seconds to notice the smell, then move on. If you've already noticed the smell, have you ever wondered if breathing that in might be harmful to your health? Well, that "clean-smelling" odor you detect all the way down the cleaner isle is caused by something industry experts have termed "out gassing." Out gassing is the process by which those chemical vapors escape from the containers as they sit store shelves. And, just breathing them can be extremely hazardous. As you may know, inhalation (or breathing) is one of three major ways that harmful chemicals can enter your body. The other two ways include ingestion (or swallowing) and absorption through the skin. Inhalation is even more dangerous than actually ingesting a chemical, because the harmful agents go directly into the blood stream to affect the lungs, heart, brain, liver, and kidneys. It happens almost instantly. These chemically-based cleaners may get the cleaning job done, but the vapors can enter your system and start doing their damage before you even realize what's happening. Now let's talk about absorption. One square centimeter of your skin contains millions of cells and nerve endings. This is why we're seeing advertisements for anti-smoking or weight-loss patches. They work because the ingredients enter your body easily through the skin. Unfortunately, the same applies to chemicals. Every time a cleaning product or other chemical touches your skin, it gets absorbed. Washing your hands after using such cleaners cannot prevent some level of absorption. In fact, even days after you've cleaned a surface, touching it, preparing food on it, or even walking across it can result in harmful chemicals being absorbed into your body. The third way harmful agents can enter your body is the most obvious: ingestion. If you swallow something, it will eventually get into your blood stream and affect your internal organs. Ingestion is what most parents of young children worry about when it comes to cleaners. Putting them up high or locking your cabinet may help, but unfortunate accidents still happen, leaving the parents of about 1.5 million children devastated each year when their children are poisoned in the home. Now you're aware that ingestion shouldn't be your only concern. Armed with this information, perhaps you can better protect yourself and your family. However, there are a lot of other things most people don't know about the household cleaners they're using. For example: 1. Of 17,000 household chemicals, only about 5,100 (or approximately 30%) have been adequately tested. 2. The government has very limited power to regulate and require proper testing of household cleaners for their potentially harmful effects. 3. Less than 10% of our household cleaners have been tested on the human nervous system. 4. Products that kill 50% of lab animals they're tested on may still be legally designated as non-toxic. 5. No law requires manufactures to list the exact ingredients on the cleaning products package label. If those facts make you a bit nervous, you're not alone. Many parents and consumer protection agencies are already calling for stricter regulations and better testing. More research is also needed to find safer alternatives to the harmful chemicals currently being used. Still, many families are simply opting to avoid these cleaners altogether and purchase bio-safe, non-toxic household products. Many of these safe cleaners are not only worry-free, but clean just as well or better than their commercially-made counterparts. These products are readily available online and elsewhere. Those who are concerned about their family's health can purchase a myriad of safer products, and find numerous outlets to voice concern, including calling their state representatives to ask for government action. Advertising Your Private Practice: 6 Tips for Maximizing Your Results-Part 2
by marsie poluchowska - Monday, 14 April 2008, 07:10 PM
Anyone in the world
By Juliet Austin As discussed in part 1 of this article, "Your Private Practice: Beware of the Problems," I usually dont recommend advertising as a main method of marketing a practice for new coaches, counselors and healing professionals. There are often more cost-effective ways to get the word out and attract clients. However, if you are convinced you need to advertise or have a reason to believe that your ads will be effective as a method of marketing your practice, here are 6 tips that will help you maximize the results you will get from your financial investment. 1.When placing an ad, make the decision up front that you will commit to run it for 6 months to a year so that people get used to seeing it repeatedly. You cant expect to get results from an ad that you have only placed for a short period of time. Repetition is key here. 2.Your ad will be more effective if you gear it towards a specific target market. Directing your ad towards a general audience is not as effective as directing it towards those who are experiencing a particular problem (e.g. loss of relationship, problem with alcohol or drugs, people experiencing back pain, etc.). People want to see someone who has expertise with their specific problem. In addition, when they see an ad that speaks to their problem directly, they are more likely to respond to it. 3. Advertising works best when you place your ad in a well targeted publication. Think of the type of client you want to attract and their problem(s), find out what they read, and place your ad in these publications. For example, if you work with parents of young children, you might want to place your ad in a parenting magazine. 4. Make the clients concerns the focus of your ad, not yourself or your services. Open the ad by addressing the core problem(s) your clients are experiencing, so that when they read it, they say to themselves, "Yes, thats me. This is exactly the problem Im having." In the end, not only will you get more clients this way, but your clients will be better served as they will be more suitable for your particular services. In addition, be sure to mention a few key benefits people can expect to experience if they work with you. 5. Find places where you can advertise your private practice for free. Some publications will allow this, especially if you offer free presentations to the public. 6. Dont rely solely on advertising to market your practice. Advertising works best when used as part of an integrated strategy. Again, because of the 5-7 contacts principle, the more ways you market your practice, the more potential clients and referral sources will be exposed to you and your practice. Unless you have a large expense budget, follow the guidelines above, or have reason to believe your ads will be successful, you are probably better off finding alternative means for marketing your practice. After you have an established practice, some well-placed ads can be helpful if used as part of an overall marketing strategy. By Emma Sanford LEMON THERAPEUTIC GRADE ESSENTIAL OIL Research by Jean Valnet, M.D., showed that vaporized Lemon Oil can kill meningococcus bacteria in 15 minutes, typhoid bacilli in one hour, Staphylococcus Aureus in two hours, and Pneumococcus bacteria within three hours. Even a 0.2% solution of Lemon Oil can kill diphtheria bacteria in 20 minutes and inactivate tuberculosis bacteria. Lemon Oil has been widely used in skin care to cleanse skin and reduce wrinkles and combat acne. Lemon Oil has shown to have antidepressant effects in research done by Komori, et al., 1995. Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils have a complex chemical structure, designed and produced by nature, which makes the use uniquely economical!
