Bahá’u’lláh, by Shahrokh Monjazeb, the front of the book Bahá’u’lláh, by Shahrokh Monjazeb, the back of the book

Bahá’u’lláh, by Shahrokh Monjazeb, a prominent Canadian Bahá’í scholar, is authoritative and elegantly designed. It is also the first book published by the Furútan Academy. The goal of the Academy is to develop, implement and foster systematized college-level training on the essential Bahá’í fundamentals with a special focus on the Faith’s history and sacred texts.

The first half of Bahá’u’lláh details the life of the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, expressed as far as possible in Bahá’u’lláh’s own words. The teachings of this spiritual visionary have been whole-heartedly embraced by seven million people around the world. The second half of the text includes soul-stirring and thought-provoking selections from thirteen of Bahá’u’lláh’s most important writings along with brief introductions setting the circumstances in which they were written.

The book’s utility is further enhanced by a detailed appendix listing 150 of Bahá’u’lláh’s best-known works arranged alphabetically and chronologically – from the Tehran, Baghdad, Istanbul, Edirne, and Akká periods.

“The target-audience of this brief survey is not the deepened scholar, nor the polished, professional academic, but rather the intellectual and spiritual seeker, or new believer who aspires to achieve more systematic learning by delving further into the sacred writings and secondary literature of the Bahá’í Faith.” (Jack McLean, independent scholar, Ottawa, Canada)
